Been waiting my whole life..
..For you to come and waste a while.
Morning Parade
I realize I have been absent for DA for 123456789 years but I'm back now, so forgive me?
I've been buried under a mound of coursework and literature and exam prep and have only recently resurfaced but I guess that comes with the whole college territory.
The good news: I got selected to apply to study English Lit at Oxbridge (Oxford and Cambridge University for you non Englanders) and if initially accepted, will have my interview in December :D
The bad news: I have to attend extra classes on pre 1600's literature which I usually wouldn't complain about if there wasn't a whole section on
I like the way you sound in the morning,
..We're on the phone and without a warning, I realize you laugh is the best sound I have ever heard.
Oh my..
'Kay so I got my GCSE results back, straight A's which was a pinch-me-how-the-hell-did-i-manage-that kinda shock. Already enrolled in college, picked my courses; English Lit, English Language, Philosophy, Law, and because I got put into gifted & talented, I have to take Critical Thinking too.
AND to top it off, on the same day I got my results, I got a letter from Red House publishing to say I'd been featured as one of their top young writers of 2010 :O They also invited me down to a workshop with some author so I've got all that go
And it's always summer back in Alabama..
And I miss you forever, honey
More than you will know.
Oh my, my Summer so far has been insane!
Stupid Little Love Notes ended up being nominated in the Under 16's Short Story category of the Brit Writers Awards 2010, and as one of seven finalists my parents insisted we flew back from Spain for the ceremony. The whole evening seems like a dream now; I met Terry Pratchett, one of my all time writing hero's, and Feargal Sharkey from The Undertones presented the overall award :D
I didn't win, but I can't say I'm too fussed as just to be considered one of the top seven young writers in the country is enough of an honour:heart:
If you

Brit Writer's Awards Unpublished 2010 (update)
So guys, I got an email a month ago to say I'd made it through to the second round, and Tuesday I got an email announcing I'd made it through to the final round of judging!
Only 100 entrants made it through to the final round, and overall, 21,000 people entered, which is pretty damn mind-blowing seeings as I'm one of the successful 100!
I find out at the beginning of June whether I have been nominated for an award & am therefore going to the awards at the 02 Arena London :D
If I am successful (fingers crossed aye?) I have to arrange for a time for a film crew to come over to film my nominatio
